Freeplay strive to "make energy available to everybody all of the time", Freeplay Energy are committed to balancing the imperatives of both profit and social justice. Many new products have been developed since Trevor Bayliss invented the radio as a response to the AIDS crisis in Africa – the wind-up radio allowed information to be received by thousands of people without electricity. Since then many new products have been introduced and more are in development.
