Why are E-Scooters so good?
There are many advantages to riding an electrically powered motor scooter (also known as e-scooters, or electric scooters):
You’ll never need to go to a petrol station again – instead you charge the motor at home, at work or, in some towns (the number is increasing!) at a charging station. E-scooters produce no exhaust gases so are environmentally friendly – of course some CO2 is created when the batteries are charged from a standard electrical socket, though only a very small amount of electricity is needed to fully charge a battery.
By using an electric scooter rather than a petrol motor for a 50 mile weekly commute you save about 2.5 gallons of petrol a week – charging your scooter to travel the same distance costs around 50p (that’s 1p a mile).
Not only are e-scooters very cheap to run they don’t require road tax, and insurance is very, very cheap – if you need to go into a congestion charge area you won’t be charged and, increasingly, car parks have a free or reduced tariff for e-scooters. On top of all that, maintenance is simple and more affordable that petrol engines
