We took along a selection of electric bikes for people to see & try. As always Fran from Horse Events looked after us brilliantly and as you can see from the photos, the weather wasn’t half bad!

Raleigh Big Cycle Ride

Do you fancy a new experience this spring? Why not join E-Motion & Raleigh for the BIG CYCLE RIDE on Saturday 7th April 2012. Discover 5 miles on Swindon’s Best Kept Secret; it’s extensive network of lovely cycle paths on a Raleigh ebike. Come and meet Lloyd, Raleigh’s ebike specialist whose bringing along the latest ebikes from Raleigh for you to try.

It’s a perfect opportunity to try out an electric bike and ask any questions you may have. We’ll be providing tea, coffee and snacks. There will be four rides running through out the day for up to 10 people so places are limited. We have a choice of times from 9, 11, 1 and 3, you can book over the phone or simply send us an email.

Our aim for the BIG CYCLE RIDE is to make the day informal & friendly ride with absolutely no pressure. It’s also a great chance to meet other cyclist and share you knowledge. If you’ve thought about an electric bike this is going to be the perfect place to find out more about them.

If you’ve already got a bike you enjoy, then a retro fit kit from Bionx could be exactly what your looking for. Bionx kits are fitted to your current bike or a bike of your choice and come in range of sizes from a 22V kit that provides over 20 miles of pedal assistance to a 48V kit that provide up to 60 miles of assistance. Bionx kits use regenerative pedal & brake assist to put power back into your battery. A Bionx bike will also be available to test ride on the BIG CYCLE RIDE.

Storck RADDAR, Flyer & DaaHub

As promised in one of our latest posts we’ve got some more product announcements for you!

We have recently taken on Storck RADDAR bikes. Since 1995 Storck has been developing innovative ground breaking and timeless products which have won numerous tests and design awards. Storck have now enter the electric bike market with the Multitask and Multiroad Carbon which are based on Storck’s popular road bikes. Storck’s new series of electric bikes is exceptional in terms of both build quality and design.

Here at E-Motion we don’t mess around when it comes down to quality and reliability of electric bikes we sell. Thats one of the reasons we are now stocking Flyer. Flyer’s line up features a wide selection of crossbar, step through and folding ebikes with multiple colour options on selected models. Flyer distinguishes itself by the high-quality, hard-wearing components from well-known brands & all bikes come with a five year guarantee.

Later this year (or possibly early 2012) we are expecting to recieve one of the first batches of Wisper’s DaaHub retro fit ebike kit. Just like the kits from Bionx and other manufacturers this simple kit will allow you to convert your existing bike into an electric bike. The DaaHub kit provides you with a pedal assist mode as well as throttle. We had chance to test the DaaHub out for the first time at EuroBike this year on a BMX and full suspension mountain bike and we’re very pleased with its performance on both bikes. Opening On 20th August 2011

We’re very pleased to reveal that on Saturday 20th August 2011 we’ll be opening the doors on our new retail shop for the very first time! We welcome you to join us and you’ll get to see the full range of 2011/12 Wisper and Raleigh ebikes, together with the new Storck RADDAR from Germany and the Swiss Flyer as it’s name suggests from Switzerland.

We’ll also have a range of ebikes on display from Powabyke, iZip, Juicy Bike and GoCycle. There will be opportunities to book test rides and ask any burning questions you have about ebikes to the team and also enter a competition to win £100 worth of fab cycle gear! So please do join us, we’d be delighted to see you!

English Summer Rain

What a month we’ve had since our last shop blog post! First off we have now officially moved to 373 Cricklade Road, Swindon after a couple of months running between Swindon and Blunsdon. The shop is coming along now, the floors have been tiled, walls plastered and painted and we’re moving on to giving the outside of a building a new coat of paint. We’ve been using a cherry picker to work on the outside of the building (as and when the rain gives us a chance to do so) and hope to have some branding on the building very soon.

As well as working hard on the new shop we’ve been out and about at some events such as the Bicycle Carnival in Lydiard Park and Green Transport Event in Bristol. Our bikes went down a storm at the events and we couldn’t be happier with the reception we got!

Swindon Bicycle Carnival

On Saturday 2nd July 2011, we attended Swindon’s Bicycle Carnival at Lydiard Park. The Bicycle Carnival is an event arranged by CTC and Swindon Borough Council aimed at getting people out on their bikes, dressing up and having fun! The Swindon Advertiser has labelled the event as ‘a huge success’!

Our selection of demo bikes on the day included the GoCycle, Wisper 905se Sport, Raleigh Leeds and more from iZip, Powabyke and Juicy Bikes. We got a great response from everyone on the day especially all our first time riders and one gentleman even said he found the ride ‘as addictive as alcohol’, we just hope he doesn’t mix the two! It was fantastic to see both younger and older people enjoying our electric bikes, especially when we had entire families taking the bikes for a spin!

Pushing Forward

Another week has past and we’ve been extremely busy trying to push everything forward inside our new shop. We’ve finally finished the wiring so now we’re able to start on the cosmetics such as the new ceilings, plastering, tiling the floor and decorating!

We just hope this beautiful sunny weather (we’ve been missing out on) the UK has been having will show up for us on our launch day in a few weeks time!
